Singer and Teacher Releases Powerful Book on Growth and Rediscovery

The Distant Lighthouse by Linda Gallagher is a mesmerizing tale about a lighthouse forgetting its role and purpose in life. A lighthouse is supposed to do its job or duty by simply being what it is and sharing its beam of light in the darkness, saving boats in the process by showing them the way to home and harbor. Gallagher says the lighthouse started its journey of being a beautiful, purposeful lighthouse but over time became bored, sad, fearful and self-pitying by not ‘remembering’ the reason for its life and purpose.

Readers will figure out that the tale is a metaphor for our lives as we tend to lose sight of the value and meaning of our existence. The story demonstrates that each of us has a reason for being here, but when we struggle and face obstacles, we sometimes succumb and surrender, forgetting what it’s like to live and being a light to others. But our resiliency leads us to a path of rediscovering ourselves, thus understanding the power of each of our journey. We learn, grow, and remember that each of us has value, worth, and purpose.

“I believe this sweet little book treasure tells the story of every human being. Along the road of life, we forget who and what we truly are. The lighthouse story reminds me that there is not another like me and my true joy is shining and sharing my truth and love. I love this little book and share it often. May you remember who you are by this sweet tale,” a satisfied reader shares.

Gallagher is the Spiritual Director of a Center of Freedom in Martinez, California — a non-denominational, not-for-profit community since 1990 that is a spiritual and musical ministry for seekers of Truth, especially those who are recovering from addictive living. Linda is a published author, inspirational singer and recording artist, teacher and addictions counselor, with 14 musical albums produced to date. Much of her music has been circulated worldwide in various spiritual centers. In 1976, Linda began her conscious spiritual journey through the doors of Alcoholics Anonymous. Shortly after, she found herself in a Unity Church in San Rafael, California studying Lessons in Truth by Emilie Cady. From that moment on, her life became a deep dive into spiritual disciplines and teachings that took her into service and music ministry. Linda has shared retreats, music and Truth teachings with many Unity Churches and other spiritual venues throughout California, Hawaii, Australia, and India and was the Music Director for Unity of Light with Marge Britt and Paul Tyman in the late 80s.
